The Tower of David opens its gates for a night of experiences between the natural and the artificial, with local and international audio-visual performances from the depths of the ocean to the edges of the stratosphere.
An ongoing web-project by musician Tomer Baruch, in which he composes electronic soundtracks for videos of animals from around the web. The project gained great popularity and today has over 130k followers on Instagram and more on other platforms. This summer, the album Synthesized Sounds of the Sea (Hamseen Sounds label) was released, which expands the project from short videos to a full audio-visual album. Live on stage, Baruch will collaborate with his brother Regev Baruch (Bint El Fank, Baba Ganesh) and together they will play live versions of pieces from the project as well as ones that have never been released. This performance is supported by Mifal Hapais.
Sentient Ocean is an audio-visual live performance which was inspired by the intelligent ocean on the planet Solaris described in the novel by Stanisław Lem of the same title. The essence of the project is to create a fluid, ever changing audio-visual experience that allows the audience to immerse themselves in sound and image. Both audio and video are generated in real time, existing between what is natural and what is synthesized. Loosely referring to Lem’s work, the project touches upon topics such as emergence, systems theory, identity and the relationship between machine and nature.
Despite the skepticism of some world leaders, climate change is a reality. Over the past few years, our generation has begun to see the effects and consequences of this change, where we are witnessing violent and unpredictable climate phenomena. Erratic Weather is a digital art project that aims to represent changing and unpredictable atmospheric conditions for an immersive audio-visual experience. During the performance, the system uses various sources of weather information retrieved from an online database and processed in real time. Using the life cycle of natural phenomena such as typhoons, hurricanes and tropical cyclones that demonstrate the destructive power of nature and the burning need to preserve it into a comprehensive visual and sound composition.
Daniela Ljungsberg’s music is mainly based on digital arrangements of field recordings, which are accompanied by synthesizers and vocals. Most of the musical practice that Daniela uses is based on concrete music, but due to the nature of the recordings and the musical material played, she also ranges from ambient noise to pop-folk and country songs. It seems that many of Daniela’s arrangements of pop-folk songs draw part of their harmonic depth as well as the feeling of nostalgia and sadness, from the creators of psychedelic dream pop and the hauntological current such as the legendary band Broadcast.
A legend, a guru of sleazy psychedelia. The perception of the world, similar to the perception of Feller’s expansion is inspiration while moving, intelligence of the body and love for music. The music he creates leaves the dance floor burnt and smiling.
Jerusalem based braking DJ, Miss Tilly, will bring her club music from the areas of Acid House, Chicago House, UK Garage and Breakbeat. With a clear influence from the beginning of the rave scene, and a unique tone that creates heterogeneous and cross-genre sound journeys.
